Why Should You Start Eating BREAKFAST OUTSIDE?

I used to eat breakfast inside the house… at 11am… while scrolling my phone.

(it was one of the lousy habits that made my hormones, mood + energy such a mess for so long!)

These days, I eat breakfast outside in the sun… and I try my best to eat within an hour of sunrise.

I would love for YOU to start doing the same!

WHY? 

Benefits to eating breakfast EARLY in the morning (30-60 minutes after sunrise):

  • makes your body feel safe

  • boosts your metabolism

  • reduces appetite later in the day

  • can reduce anxiety + keep your mood stable

  • takes advantage of the enhanced blood sugar response your body has in the first part of the day… reducing the load on your adrenals

Benefits of eating breakfast outside:

1️⃣ Better digestion.  

Did you know that your gut microbiome respond to light?  Sunlight has a much healthier impact on your gut flora compared to indoor artificial light. 💛

AND… the early morning light boosts serotonin levels… which improves peristalsis (this keeps your bowel movements along!).

2️⃣ Better blood sugar regulation. 

Sunlight helps your mitochondria use glucose (blood sugar) more efficiently… so eating outside has beneficial effects on your blood sugar levels. ☀️

3️⃣ Eating outside means exposure to UVA light!  About an hour after sunrise, UVA (ultraviolet A) light appears for the very first time.  Eating breakfast outside at this time helps you take advantage of all the amazing early morning UVA magic, including:

  • better sleep

  • more motivation, focus + happiness

  • more energy

  • reduced hunger + cravings

  • reduced pain

  • stronger libido

  • improved mood

  • nervous system support
